Donor Engagement Coordinator
About the Role
Position Overview
As the Donor Engagement Coordinator, you’ll work to sustain and grow revenue from community-level donors to help Nevus Outreach achieve its mission of driving awareness, fostering a supportive community and advancing research for people affected by congenital melanocytic nevi and related conditions.
Your primary responsibilities include assisting with the implementation of philanthropic activities, including donor thank-you calls, personal emails, thoughtful stewardship, direct mail, digital fundraising, donor acquisition, leading donor engagement, and peer-to-peer fundraising activities.
Your main role will be to own the donor experience for the community-level portfolio and help increase donor retention and lifetime value.
And while a lot of annual giving activities at Nevus Outreach happen at scale, you’ll approach mass fundraising with our philosophy of “doing things that don’t scale” to provide the most personal experience for as many donors as possible.
You’ll be a key player within an organization that measures its success by donors at all levels feeling like they’re an important and valued part of the team.
You’ll report directly to our Executive Director and work across many facets of the organization.
We are a remote-first global team and pride ourselves on being self-directed and flexible. However, this position requires regularly scheduled meetings on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings—the time varies but is typically between 7:30 a.m. and noon CST.
This role is intended to be entry level and the compensation for this position is presently being offered as a 1099 Independent Contractor Role and is budgeted at a $1000 per month retainer, with some flexibility in terms of hourly pay depending on the final weekly time commitment. We anticipate that a successful candidate would need an average of ~10-12 hours per week to effectively support our organization in this role.
This offers the right candidate the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in non-profit development, with potential for growth in both responsibility and compensation as our organization continues to grow.
We are anticipating an ideal start date of on or around January 6, 2025.

Donor satisfaction is high, as measured by donor surveys and qualitative feedback.
Donor lifetime value is trending up, as measured by gift renewals, frequency, and upgrades.
